Description
The Miami Dolphins put the exclamation point on their perfect season with a 14-7 victory over the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII in the L.A. Coliseum. The Dolphins' "No-Name Defense" held the Redskins scoreless until Dolphins' kicker Garo Yepremian mishandled a botched field goal attempt and the Redskins returned it for a TD. Suddenly a dominated game and the potential for a 17-0 shutout turned tense, but the Dolphins defense held on for the 14-7 victory. Coach Don Shula claimed the first of his two titles. Safety Jake Scott was named MVP for his 2 interceptions.
